Drag-Drop issue

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 7.

Drag-Drop issue

Postby alaindresse » Thu Oct 16, 2008 3:30 pm

Hi,

I use Idimager to organise my pictures, and I used to drag-drop pictures from Idimager to PE4. Worked well. No longer works with PE7.
I have upgraded imager several times since the last time I used this feature, so it could be a change in Idimager, but the drag-drop works to PSE7.
Drag-drop works from Idimager to a folder, and from a folder to PE7.

I have Vista Home Premium.

Any ideas?

Thanks and regards,
Alain

P.S. I am posting the same message in the idimager forum.

Well, version 7 does have a pretty powerful Organizer built right into the program, alain. And you can certainly drag and drop right from it.

Any chance you would be persuaded to use it instead of IDimager?

Steve,

I'm willing to give it a try, but IDimager does have quite a few features I'm pretty sure I will miss.
I would much rather find a way to drag-drop to PE7. By the way, drag-drop also works from Idimager to the PSE7 organizer...

By the way, drag-drop also works from Idimager to the PSE7 organizer..

Doesn't PE 7 Organizer use the PSE 7 Organizer catalog as its default for a catalog?

So if you did the drag and drop from IDimager to the PSE 7 Organizer, then I think you could then use that PSE 7 Catalog in Premiere Elements 7 even if you do not use any other functions of the PSE 7 Organizer. Maybe, maybe, maybe I say because I have not attempted this myself.

Or are you already doing that and wanting a direct route to PE7?

Barb O,

I am indeed using this route today (IDimager to organizer in PSE7), and wanted a more direct route...

Hi,

I got some more info from the other forum: drag-drop from IDimager to PE4 doesn't work either.
I know I dragged images from my DAM application to PE4 - must have been from IMatch.

On my pc,
Dragging from IDimager to Paint, QImage, folders or Photoshop Elements works.
Dragging to Premiere elements from folders, Photoshop Elements or Arcsoft Photoimpression (installed with my scanner) works.

But dragging from IDimager to Premiere Elements does not work...

Any ideas ?

Alain

It looks like the only solution is to use the Organizer instead, Alain.

Indeed, unless idimager adapts the way it 'drops' its images.

Thanks for looking into this!
