PSE19 out already?! I don't want to mess with a new learning curve. Is this a RUSH job that will be full of bugs . . . or is this a 'normal timeline' for new versions of PSE? And on their website they claim this about PSE19: "Faster performance" -- as proven by what?! Thanks.

Traditionally, this is the annual release date for the software, so it's certainly not a rush job.

Will there be a new forum for the 2019 Premiere Elements version?

Saw this article by Sean Berry...Editing for variable frame rate sounds like a welcome addition too.

Details for Premiere Elements 2019 and Photoshop Elements 2019 are out and the programs are focused on performance and new ways to help you edit.

To start, Adobe says the 2019 versions focus on “streamlining the apps’ usability” for less wait time. Both Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements can run slowly with larger projects, so it’s nice to hear the apps should run more smoothly. Adobe says there are improvements to both apps’ performance “across the board,” so you should notice a difference.

Also, the apps have new advancements in how they help new users edit and create, including automated collages and new guided edits.

Better Performance “across the board” and HEIF Support
In Premier, downloads and the installation process will be faster according to Adobe and you should notice improvements to the speed of typical video editing tasks. Additionally, Adobe’s added support for variable frame rate (VFR), import and editing of HEIF images on macOS and HEVX video on macOS 10.13 and above.

As for Photoshop, Adobe claims you’ll notice the speed difference in this program, too. Downloads and installation should be faster, and Adobe’s also added support for importing and editing HEIF images on macOS.

In my opinion, words like "speed difference" and "less wait time" are a bit subjective. In my experience, there's not much change in performance compared to version 2018. Though I would like to hear of anyone working with variable frame rate video.

As for HEIF support, that appears to be limited to the Mac version of the program.

But I would very much like to hear from anyone who has noted a significant improvement in performance of any kind in either Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements.

Is there an electronic version of this guide? I use this to teach Premiere and it would be easier to bookmark and make notes. Thank you for a terrific book!

Thank you for responding. Most of my students who use this book are Spanish Speaking and are having difficulty understanding the text to do their homework. So I was going to translate the areas I want them to follow for homework, that is why I was curious if you had an electronic version.

OK - this is my first post here. I hope I am in the right spot. If not, the post police will need to correct the error of my ways before I become a habitual offender. I am new to muvipix, premier elements and editing. In only a few days I am doing fine. 1st Problem I can not figure out:I downloaded a clip from muvipix ( a basketball court) to use as an intro. I put it in my Toshiba external drive. When I try to drag it into my add media for my project it says "the importer encountered an error" and as a result, I can not utilize . Be easy, I am a week in to this. Thanks

Welcome to muvipix.

It is always best to start a fresh post as opposed to piggybacking off of a different thread. :)

Was this a free clip or one you purchased.

I agree with Sidd. You'll need to start a new thread if you want us to help you out with this question. You've posted to an 11 year old announcement!

I recommend you post this question to the Premiere Elements 11 forum, if that's the software you're using. We won't continue this discussion in this forum.
