I am trying to fit a 2hr and 17 min project to a 4.7 dvd.. i have burned a 9 hour project to the 8.5 dvd but it isn't letting me do it. i hate to have to buy dual layered dvd's to do this but i don't know if there is a way to make it fit. thanks for your help!!

Glad to see you are working on projects.

You should be able to check the box that says "Fit contents to available space"
It is the Quality setting in the Burn Disc window. That should allow you to burn just about any length project to DVD.

It is checked. I got a message that said something about the amount of space. continue to burn. I clicked on yes. when it finished it said there wasn't enough space so some of the media was not added.. I figured it would do it but for some reason it isn't allowing it.

Have you watched the DVD to see if anything is missing?

Yes. about the last 8-10 minutes aen't there.. any suggestions?

It must be burning at as low a quality and high a compression level as possible. Usually 2 hours isn't a problem but evidently the last 17 minutes is a bit too much. I would have to suggest either cut some of the video out or use a dual layer disc. The quality would be better on a dual layer anyway and they aren't terribly expensive anymore

i am going to try on more thing before i invest in dual layer dvd's. i unchecked the box that says fit dvd to space and burning that way.. i will see what happens. i have to go out near fry's this afternoon so i will stop in there and pick up some.. thanks for your help. this project is a little behind schedule. i normally have it done but with Richard passing away, i just wasn't in the mood to do it. now it is crunch time so i have had to work alot of nights and weekends to get it done. the parents all know my situation and have told me to take my time.. they are such great people.. i could not have made it thru all this without them..
