I have "Premiere Pro For Windows" by Anthony Bolante... it is for version 1.5, there is probably one available for 2.0. I find it a very useful reference book. It goes from basics up through color correction techniques.

I orderd this book from Amazon.com:

Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Classroom in a Book

I guess it's a little too late to ask if it's any good.

The "Classroom In a Book" series are actually created and published by Adobe. They often don't go tremendously deep into the program, but they're usually a great walk-through of the basics -- as the kind you'd get if you took a one- or two-day class (hence the name of the book).

I know my way around Elements 2.0 and 4.0 so I'm hoping that it will be enough to get me started.

No matter what you learn within "Elements 2.0 and 4.0 " it is the same for Pro 2 & CS3.
You will be able to use the same skills and techniques!

I have version 1.5 of this book if it's of any interest but any books on the subject is better than nothing :)

Hope it helps!

For $25 you will probably get more out of the tutorials at Lynda.com :)

I agree that they offer so much for the money that you pay!

But, been able to sit back, relaxe and read a book in your own time is worth it's money :)
Adobe Premiere Elements 2 in a Snap Book will also keep you in good stead!

Another plug for Steve & Chuck :)

Adobe Premiere Elements 2 in a Snap

I already have this book. I've had it for a while now. From my college days getting my math degree, I used to buy every different used calculus book I could find in order to study different explanations.

As long as you have been using the Timeline mode in Premiere Elements you won't have any trouble with Premiere Pro.
Pro has many additional features that will be fun to learn but you can complete a project without all that, just with your Elements knowledge. There are also things that are not in Pro that you may miss, but that is another story.
