Pro vs. DaVinci Resolve

Postby Matthew Max » Mon Sep 20, 2021 8:56 pm

Adobe Pro is by subscription. I'm not going to do that. The full version of DaVinci can be purchased for $300. Does it do everything my old Pro CSS5.5 version does?

How does a person learn DaVinci quickly?

Matthew,

I had the same dilemma.

I downloaded the free version of DaVinci and it meets all the requirements I had in PrePro. I am not a 'power user' but I do like to take advantage of all the features - where I can.

There are loads of helpful videos on YouTube, so not too daunting to start.

Blackmagic themselves have several training books, training videos and associated example project files on their website which might be a good place to start.

Personally I don't mind the subscription anymore, I didn't like it at first but actually an fine with it now. I always have the most current releases and the price is not unreasonable for all that I get. I have cut my subscription down to just Acrobat Pro now because I was not using the other programs anymore. If I needed them again I would have no problem going back to my $29/mo contract for everything.
