Matching Resolution to Monitor size.

Postby Cope This 719 » Mon Feb 11, 2013 1:07 am

Is it possible to run a 27 in monitor on a resolution of 1920 x 1080. I have heard that this will not give very good results and that it is better to use a monitor rated at 2560 x 1440. I will be using a Samsung Sync Master 2253 LW running Premiere Pro CS6. My graphics card is a Zotac GTX 570 with 2 DVI-I Ports Should this config produce great results

Thanks in advance
John

This is an interesting question, John. It should be possible -- You might even be able to run it at 800x600, if you're so inclined -- I'm just not sure what the advantage is. (Unless, of course, you have vision problems you and you have problems seeing details.)

Just remember that the lower your monitor resolution, the bigger all your program navigation will be. And some programs that are designed for higher resolution monitors (video editing programs for instance) may not fit right.

When we create tutorials, we usually try to record an area that's 1920x1080, and you'll often see us struggling, trying to get all of the panels open wide enough to work.

Steve,
thanks for the quick reply. I have bitten the bullet and purchased the Samsung Sync Master S 278350 monitor. The 2 monitors now work a treat.

Thanks for your advice
Regards John.
