Hi,
Do you know if Sony's Full HD AVCHD format is compatible with Premiere Pro CS5.
Someone is telling me that there is a compatibility problem and I should use Sony Vegas instead which I don't want to use.
Thanks

Sony NEX-VG10 and Premiere Pro CS5Hi,

Re: Sony NEX-VG10 and Premiere Pro CS5I Haven't heard anything and sure don't expect that there are any problems. I've thrown about 6 or 8 different AVCHD formats at Premiere Elements 10 and it takes them all perfectly. Elements has the same updates to compatibility and how it works with many new file types as Pro CS5 does. Give it a shot and see how it works. Funny that someone would say that you should edit Sony files in Vegas, that should never be the case. Create a small project to test and let us know how well everything works

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Sony NEX-VG10 and Premiere Pro CS5I've not heard of any incompatibilities between AVCHD produced by that camera and Premiere Pro CS5. It should be fine. I think the person who told you that is thinking of earlier versions -- AVCHD support was first introduced in CS4, CS3 didn't support it at all. AVCHD support in CS5 is pretty solid.
Be sure to copy the complete media folder structure from the memory card to your computer, not just the files, and import from there. Depending on how the AVCHD metadata is handled by the camera, you may need to use the CS5 Media Browser to import the files into your project. Re: Sony NEX-VG10 and Premiere Pro CS5thanks for your feedback and your prompt reply.
I will try it and if I find the incompatibility problem I will let you know Thanks again.
Re: Sony NEX-VG10 and Premiere Pro CS5Now that VG20 is coming out soon, would it be better to wait for VG20 to come out ?
Thanks
