PE 3 error

Postby momoffduty » Fri Mar 09, 2007 8:02 pm

I was able to use PE3 today and now it will not open. The initial screen does the usual loading, the splash screen appears, I choose one of my projects, project appears to load (the bar screen), then this message:

Adobe Premiere Elements has encountered an error.

[\pre\Libraries\UIFramework\Src\Window.cpp-267]

Please advise.

When I open the 3.0 folder, do I copy all files into a new folder within the 3.0 folder or where (desktop for example) ? I am not sure how to do this.

It doesn't matter what folder you put the files in, Premiere Elements is going to create new ones anyway.

You need to remove all of the files from the original folder. The files you have in there now are corrupt, that is why you are getting the error. Move all of the files to a new folder and then delete all of the files from the original folder, Premiere Elements will create new ones.

** Before trying that you can try starting Premiere Elements while holding down the left Shift and Ctrl keys, this should do basically the same thing by restoring the default preferences and emptying the cache.
