Timeline drops to screen saver in Movie Studio 16 Plat

Postby Bingster » Sat Sep 26, 2020 1:29 pm

Hi,

New here! I'm very glad that I saw this board.

I have completed a video that I was about to upload to You Tube, but about halfway through (video is about 12 min.) the screen saver came on for about three seconds and the timeline came back up and the video resumed to the end.

I have gone into my computer and changed settings, such as Movie Studio Priority Setting to "high." Changed app render settings. The bitrate I didn't change because I wasn't sure where to set the average and maximum rates based on 12,000,000, etc.
My computer tech verified that he built my computer to Movie Studio specs.

I did notice, however, that when I set my maximum processor settings in the computer from 100% to 90% and then 80% it did make a difference,. The screen saver came on a little later in the clip.
This seems to me to indicate that the processor doesn't have enough juice.
I want to upload this thing to You Tube but am at a loss what to do. ??

One more clue. When I move the cursor a few frames before the dropout point, it sails right on through with no interruption. So I think this might mean that it isn't the video clip that drops out but the computer?

Welcome to Muvipix, Bingster. But I'm still not clear what your issue is.

Your screensaver is coming on? But it doesn't sound like it actually affected your movie. You don't say if the final movie was corrupted.

Do you have the screensaver turned on in your operating system? To be honest, I didn't know computers even had screensavers anymore. They're kind of obsolete and unnecessary technology. So if your screensaver is an issue of any kind, the first thing I'd do is remove it completely. You don't need it.
