I have no computer issues..it's me!

Postby BuddyB » Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:42 am

It's basically a minor thing, but irritating. Working in Vegas and designing .MP4s. For whatever reason the stills I design, even though I design the screen at 1920 X 1080, maybe even pixels 10 larger either way the finished screen does not fill top to bottom; but it does the 1920 way. I know it's somehing I'm probably not figuring in Vegas :conf: . Any ideas, as always, appreciated.

Are you saying that your photos measure 1920 pixels x 1080 pixels, Buddy?

That's unusual as photos are usually 4:3 and not 16:9, unless you're cropping them down to 1920x1080.

Can you open one of your photos in Photoshop Elements or whatever graphics program you're using and check the measurements?

Will do Steve. What I do is create my graphics background as 1920 X 1080, include the type and graphics I want and save it as a .PNG. Since I'm working in Vegas Pro 16 I render 1080 at 29.5. Sometimes if the entire project, which I put on my Facebook, is 1000 X 1000 pixels and render at 720 at 29.5; that seems to work well. You might check my Fb if you have the time. It's "Image Palette." Anyway, thanks.

I should have included the graphic, but wasn't thinking.

Steve I finally got it full frame; went into properties and chose..HDV 1080-24p (1440x1080, 23.976 fps). It didn't give the option for 29.97 fps, but in the playback it doesn't seem to matter. This I will upload. Maybe one day I'll learn enough that I won't be bugging y'all with my shortcomings.

Interesting. I'm not sure why, but I'm glad it worked for you.
