sharing device screens

Postby hpharley90 » Tue Apr 07, 2020 2:45 pm

Hi everyone, I hope all are well. I've got a question I will get to. My yoga class has turned into a virtual class. I would like to share what I get on my HP laptop screen with my LG smart TV. I can't see the little monitor on my laptop when I'm taking a class. Were using Zoom to connect all of us. How can I get this on my TV?
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard, One option is to use the TV as a monitor, if the laptop has HDMI out that will work and is probably the easiest. There is also a possibility to do screen sharing but that works for my phone, not sure it will work for a laptop.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Alternatively you could use Chromecast if there is no HDMI port on the laptop.
AMD Ryzen 3900x 12C/24T, ASUS x570 mobo, Arctic Liquid Freezer ll 280, Win11 64 bit, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 graphics, Samsung 500GB NVMe 980 PRO (C:), Samsung 970 Evo SSD (D:), Dell U2717D Monitor, Synology DS412+ 8TB NAS, Adobe CS6.

Another good option John :)

If there is only a DVI, miniDisplayPort or DisplayPort for video there are excellent and very inexpensive adapters to HDMI. I have used them all :ha:

As soon as I plugged HDMI into TV. Bingo. There was my desktop.
Thanks again
Thanks
