What is this?

This was installed recently and I did read the info at the website. I don't know how it got on my computer, maybe with a Win7 update?

Hi Cheryl.

I take a very dim view of anything installed on my PC without my knowledge or consent whether it be "a good thing" or not.

Taking immediate steps to remove it would be my initial reaction.

It looks legitimate - but if you want to remove it you can uninstall it in the usual way. They have a page about completely removing all trace.

It won't have come as part of a Win7 update as it's totally separate software. It possibly might be as an extra with something else - although installing unwanted software is a great way to get yourself on blocked lists which doesn't appear to suit their model.

Thanks for the replies. The date under program add/remove was the same date my daughter was in town using my computer. She also accidentally installed Yahoo toolbar. Mystery solved.

I'd make sure to run Malwarebytes or whatever antimalware software you use. You never know...

If you are really hesitant you could just do a system restore to the day before she got there.... lol

It wouldn't hurt to run a scan.

A scan has been done. I don't want to restore. It was a while back and no problems. I may nose around the add/remove list to check for that date in question. When our Turkish student lived with us she changed my browser to Turkish and then left to go home on break. The next morning I did slightly panic for a few minutes. I did figure it out by guessing how to change it back to English. :-8
