Bluescreen Events

Postby _Paz_ » Thu Nov 06, 2014 8:47 pm

I've had three recent bluescreen events. Below are the 'more info' messages. It doesn't help me. I'm afraid my computer knowledge is insufficient.

If anyone has any idea how I can make this quit happening, I'd be much obliged.

thanks,

Paz

The first BCCode, the B3, is being caused by an attempt to reference an invalid address. This particular blue screen is often caused by the video driver although it can be caused by other things as well.

The BCCode 9F, has to do with a driver having an inconsistent or invalid power state. This usually occurs after the system goes into hibernation and is subsequently resumed. The BCP1 value of 3 indicates that a device has been blocking an I/O request packet for too long a long time. This can occur when a device is powered down when going into hibernation and is not responding when coming out of hibernation. This can also be caused by device drivers.

If you updated any drivers recently before this started happening, you might try reverting back to the previous versions. Otherwise, check that you have current drivers -- especially the video driver.

Thanks Bob. My battery has been refusing to take a charge lately and I'm on a new, really strong surge suppressor that supposedly can take a lightning hit. Maybe that's part of my problem. I'll try to reinstall my video drivers too.

When I get back home... Hi to everyone from the Gulf coast!
