What is with this Conduit thing?

Postby BuddyB » Fri Feb 28, 2014 6:21 pm

This is the second time I've had to go after these guys. I got rid of 100+ files associated with them. Clever little pop-ups/Links in the messages and sig here on Muvipix. Irritates the fire our of me. I have AVG, Malwarebytes and I run Little Registry cleaner periodically. I had over 200 bad boys when I ran it. I do not go any place bizaar. I come here when I can, go to TalkGraphics(Xara) and every once-in-a-while to Facebook. I don't like it so I don't go often. Conduit is a pain in the you-know-what, any thoughts?
PS: And there's a link to SmartShopping.com that just showed up in the word Registry..boo hiss!

I'm not experiencing this on the two computers I use to access Muvipix. :conf:

It's not Muvipix, even if the links show up on Muvipix. Those links will show up on every site you visit if you've got the bug!

It's not a virus so much as an applet that sneaks onto your computer. You can probably find it if you go to your Windows Programs and Features control panel and delete it.

Here are more detailed instructions.

I know it's not on Muvipix. It's just on my computer. And I'm looking for the critter. AND I just found the sucker and got rid of it. I apologize if I gave the impression I thought it was coming from Muvipix. This not the first time Conduit has invaded my machine. Boy would I like to know where the hole it.

For what it's worth, I've gotten hit by it on both Internet Explorer and FireFox. Chrome seems to be less vulnerable.
