DVD discs quality

Postby Barb O » Mon May 20, 2013 4:40 pm

I am looking for a brand recommendation for DVD-R discs -- my objective is a balance of quality versus price when purchasing a small quantity of discs.

FYI - I am helping a person over on the Adobe Photoshop Elements forum who is making her first slideshow. She has only Photoshop Elements 9 on Windows 7, so I am directing her to use the output from the Photoshop Elements Organizer Slide Show Editor as input to the MS Windows DVD Maker software in order to create the video format DVD.

Verbatim with the AZO dye or Taiyo Yuden Premium Line 8X.

My sentiments exactly.

Although I would point out that "quality" of a DVD only refers to the quality of the data burned itself. The quality of the video image and sound will not vary one iota because it's just digital data. The "quality" of a DVD simply refers to whether or not it will accept the data well.

Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden most consistently produce discs that accept data well.

A late +1 for Verbatim and Taiyo.

Also, for checking final output, a re-writable DVD is useful for checking things on a DVD/TV prior to producing the final DVD. Save making coasters. :-D
