No Firewire port on new laptop???

Postby Ron Hunter » Wed May 16, 2012 7:42 pm

I'm interested in getting a new laptop that I will use for HD video editing and regular computing tasks. I'm torn between Apple and PC, but that isn't what this post is about.

Other than a Macbook Pro, I can't find a laptop with a Firewire port!

I can find eSATA ports and SD card slots, but no Firewire port. Even HP's top of the line "high performance" and "Envy" laptops do not offer Firewire.

Are any of you aware of a new laptop that offers a Firewire port?

Or you can use a Firewire Express Card if you find one with an Express Card Slot.
