One last comment on this subject. I had a freeze today and the system events are the same as reported before, but this time there were no errors in the application events.

Still think that this might be worth a try. It is already present on your computer, it is free and might help pinpoint a problem; especially if it identifies a common sequence of events that cause the problem.
