Hardware question

Postby George Tyndall » Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:03 pm

After nearly 2 years of use, my headphones no longer work with the headphone jack on the front of my machine, but they do work with the 2-speaker jack on the rear.

The reason is that, after many years of use in the front, they no longer seat well (I can make them work only by "jiggling" them).

What needs to be replaced in the machine in my signature, which is still under warranty?

It sounds to me like the front headphone port/jack. Which is probably an assembly separate from but connected to your sound card.
