This is driving me Crazy!!

Postby Little Nac » Sun Sep 25, 2011 6:42 pm

Hi all.
Can anyone please throw some light on what is going on here. For the past couple of weeks this appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, when I try to scroll up or down. Not always, but often enough.
Does anyone know what it is, or how I can get rid of it?
Thanks in advance.

Yipes! First thing I'd do would be to run Spybot Search & Destroy.

If that doesn't remove it, run Malware Bytes.

It's clearly some sort of malware.

Thanks Steve.
Downloaded the latest version of Spybot and scanned the whole computer. No luck, it still appears.
Then I ran the Malware iobit over it, with the same result.
Any more suggestions?
EDIT: Also downloaded Malware Bytes, and ran that over it but still no success.

Try Trend Housecall. It takes about two hours.

Thanks Guys for the help.
At this stage it looks as though it has gone. Before John's helpful suggestion, I also downloaded the free program (which we used to use a few years back) called Ad Aware.
I ran this over the computer, and since then the problem hasn't re-appeared. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes. If it does re-appear, then I'll certainly do your suggestions.
Will let you know if it does come back.
Thanks so much once again for the help.
