Saving a project

Postby tjone3323 » Tue Nov 30, 2021 8:51 pm

Help!
Still working through using this program, every time I've put together the beginnings of a project I load the video's I want to work with and then I click "save as" give the project a name and close out. When I come back to reopen and start working on it however, I can't find it. Anywhere!?!
What am I doing wrong.

You posted to a general computer issues sub-forum, tjone. What program are you working with and on what operating system?

Please forgive me, I haven't used the program (or forum) for some time and fumble around. Tell me where I need to be and I'll go there, it was difficult to navigate through everything you have posted.
I've been trying to learn Platinum 15 running on Windows 10 Home, version 21H1. If you need it the OS build is 19043.1348.

What do you see if you open Vegas Movie Studio and look under Recent Projects?

By default, the projects are saved to Documents/Movie Studio 15.0 Platinum Projects.

Are you trying to locate the project file using Windows File Explorer?

By looking at recent projects I'm assuming you mean if I click on the projects tab I get a drop down menu that shows different options, and at the bottom of that menu is a listing of what I've been working on. If thats the case I do not see the project I just "saved". If I do use Windows File Explorer I still do not find the project. Since you say that the project, by default, goes into the Documents file in Movie Studio I am obviously doing something wrong because it's not in the Documents Folder.

I'm completely stumped, Tom.

If you've got plenty of room of your C drive and you're saving your project files to a directory on your hard drive that is not ready only, I have no idea why this would be happening.

That's a good reason to use the 'save as' so that you know exactly where your file is going.
