My old Digital8 Sony camcorder is having trouble transferring my old videos, and there are a couple of precious old master tapes I'd like to digitize.
Would anyone be willing to FireWire three 45-minute Digital8 tapes over to computer files for me? I'd be willing to pay, of course.
I'd prefer to have the digitized tapes as as DVD-ready MPEG or even DVD files or discs.
If you've got the equipment to do this and you're willing, please drop me an e-mail at Steve@ this web site.
Seems like only yesterday Digital8 and miniDV were considered state of the art...
Thanks!

I would if I had a digital 8 camera. Is Bobby still around? I think he did digital 8 transfers.

Steve, I just gave away my digital 8 camera a few months ago otherwise I would have happily done this for you. I found it originally at a Goodwill store for $15, you can probably find a cheap replacement if you wanted one. I only needed the camera for a small job and it sat around the house for years so I donated it to a thrift store. I would have loved to know who the original owners were because there was a tape still in the camera of someone's Christmas morning from probably back in the 80's or early 90's. I'm sure that someone is really missing that tape

Post a short clip on Facebook. If that area has an online FB yard sale pages that would be a great start.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the quick responses!
I managed to find a used Digital8 on eBay for $99, so I went for it. But thanks to all of you kind people regardless!
