Thunderbold or a kick in the.......

Postby GerryB » Sat Oct 13, 2012 12:13 pm

Good day all.
As Apple seem to be dropping the Firewire connection in favour Thunderbolt is it le to connect a camera (Canon HV40) via Thunderbolt/Firewire to capture video 'as it happens' to the HDD as you can through Firewire direct?
If not, what is the alternative, buy a new camera?
Many thanks in advance.

As a Mac user, I'm intrigued by this evolution. According to this blog, Thunderbolt can do everything FireWire can do, though even faster. And that includes capture DV video.

But does that mean it can replace and improve it on every level? I'd like to know too.
