Lost audio track when I produced my first video.

Postby chuck@the armory » Wed Jan 12, 2022 2:11 pm

Just produced my first video with PowerDirector 20 365. I'm using an iMac. When I go to view the final version there is no sound. There's no wave form track to be found. When I was editing all was well with the sound. Very confused. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Muvipix.

Could you have muted the audio? Maybe a screenshot might help folks look for clues.

I'm a 1000% noob so that is possible, but not likely that I muted audio in the steps leading up to "produce". I'll try to send a screenshot after I get home from work today. Do you know if the program saves the pre-produced file anywhere or is producing the video a point of no return?

Did you save the project file before exporting?

I've never used PowerDirector, but I think it has autosave. I don't know if it is turned on by default.
Maybe Steve Grisetti will pop in here soon to save the day. [-o<

YES! I checked the preferences and my autosave was on. I found my file but still no audio.

When you say the "final version", do you mean that you've output an MP4 and that there is no sound on the MP4?

If so, open the MP4 in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text then copy the text of this report and paste it to this forum. With these complete specs of your file we can better advise you.
