I hadn't even seen this yet, thanks for the heads up Richard.
But for $50 + shipping I don't know that it would be worth it.
It would be really nice to hear from someone that has tried it.

Take a look at the images and you can get an idea of how it would work.
We have similar kinds of attachments for focus and zoom on our big cameras at church.
The attachments are for rear controls on the tripods. They work pretty good and use the same principle as this device does.

I was just playing with that manual focus dial today too. I'm almost getting used to it now.

I understand how it works and I'm already thinking how to make one.I'm a machinist/toolmaker.
I'll be ordering my HV40 camera soon. When I receive it I will be taking some measurements and see about making one.
Sometimes it's less expensive to by one.
If I see that itwill take 3-4 hours to make. It will be cheaper to buy it.
It looks like it's made up of 5 individual pieces. Two of those pieces at least appear to be gears.
Just thinking about it, it sounds like it might be cheaper to but. :lol:
