Two new Sony HDV cams and a huge price drop for the FX7

Postby jackfalbey » Sun Sep 14, 2008 10:35 am

Looks like Sony's getting very close to DSR-PD170 low-light performance (currently the low-light benchmark for 1/3" 3CCD prosumer camcorders) with two new prosumer HDV cams... the HDR-FX1000 and HVR-Z5U. That's great news for event & wedding videographers. The HDR-FX7 will be dropped to $1999 MSRP for those who are considering moving up from a consumer camcorder to a prosumer HDV cam.
