Quicktime alternative can't play mov files

Postby Rockdoc » Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:05 pm

Since I needed to convert a couple vob files, I installed the Quicktime Alternative version 1.81 and MpegStreamClip on my desktop running XP Pro. I can convert the vob files just fine now, but any time I try to view an .mov file, I get an error and a player shut down, with file both embedded in web pages and simply played from the folder on my hard drive. ](*,) I did download one file from the web (a tutorial in MP4 format, and it was playable by Nero Essentials.

Why can't WMP play my mov files now? What am I missing? :-k

Ok, after some more browsing, I found out that this is happening to quite a few people. I am ready to bag QTA and get QT Pro. #-o

That will convert my vob files successfully to dv-avi, right? Do people have issues with uninstalling QTA? From what I am reading, some do, and that makes me uncomfortable...

I had QTA and uninstalled it and replaced it with Quicktime Pro without any issues.
