4k video and good stills - in one camera

Postby jackfalbey » Thu Jun 12, 2014 12:54 am

Just read this review of the Panasonic FZ1000... if the final production model holds up to the results from test models, it might be a good choice for someone looking for a do-it-all camera. It could be great as a family cam for stills and video, a backup still cam for wedding/event shooters, a primary video cam for hobbyists, and a B-roll cam for pros:

I especially like the idea of shooting 4k 30p video and pulling 8-megapixel stills from it... plus panning and zooming within the 4k video for 1080p HD output!

Nice find, Jack! It's nice to see 4k at under $1000.
