Encore CS3 ?

Postby hpharley90 » Sun Dec 06, 2009 5:17 pm

I will explain what I want to do and to what is happening. Very Simple. But I don't have a clue.
I have taken a muvipix HD motion background(tvbhd0339) to use as an Encore Main menu background.
I decide to add text in Photoshop CS3 to match the color orange and white in muvipix menu. Easy.
In Photoshop it looks great. In Encore Menu Design work space and Default work space it looks great.
But in Encore Preview it changes for the worse and when burned to a disc it's the same as preview.
What happened?

Below are pictures shown in order from Photoshop to disc.

Richard, did you make sure your text was in the Safe Margins?

Start with a blank file in Photoshop Elements, select a preset from the Video options.
Then drag the background to the blank file as a new layer. Then you can view the Safe Margins to make sure your text, buttons, and image are in the correct positions :)

I don't have Encore, so I can't say for sure. But, it looks like an issue with layer styles on the text. It's not just a color issue, the drop shadow changed as well. Photoshop Layer styles don't always appear the same as in Photoshop when processed in the current video applications. I'm guessing that in the work space you are seeing the embedded image in the PSD file and in the preview you're seeing the rendered image as actually processed. If the color gradient was applied as a layer style to the text, try this. Add a blank layer below the text layer, then -- with the text layer the active layer -- merge down (ctrl-e) to apply the layer styles and rasterize the text. Now try it in Encore and see if that takes care of the problem.

I should say that I'm only talking about the 2008 text.

That is where I'm seeing the degradation.

I will try that tomorrow if I can. I'm understanding what your saying.
Thanks
Richard

Ahhh, I see that too but thought you were talking about the buttons getting cut off at the bottom 8-[

Nope. That was just the screen capture.
I haven't tried Bobs suggestion yet.
Thanks
