Nero vs pE3Why does someone Burn DVD's in Nero if htey have PE3?

Re: Nero vs pE3The only reason for using Nero is that you can reproduce the DVDs quickly.
In Premiere Elements once you close the project you have to start all over again with the burning process if you want to burn the disc again later. If it took an hour to encode and burn the first DVD then as long as you have the project open and continue to burn DVDs the next ones will only take 5 - 10 minutes each. Once you close the project you have to start over with the first one taking an hour again. If you burn to a folder in Premiere Elements and then use Nero or RecordNow to burn the folder to disc it will only take 5 - 10 minutes each time and every time. I prefer RecordNow over Nero but that is just a personal choice. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Nero vs pE3You can also control the burn speed in Nero...
Re: Nero vs pE3Excellent point Paul, thanks
Premiere Elements will burn at the maximum speed, burner and disc, so if you use a 16x disc and have a 16x burner it burns the disc at 16x. That sometimes causes playback issues on some DVD players, better to burn at 8x or slower (the slower the better). That is why I am using Encore DVD CS3 now it is getting harder to find 8x discs to burn with Premiere Elements and Encore lets me select the burn speed. 1. Re: Nero vs pE3You can also burn the video and include the pictures in a separate folder.
You can also use PgcEdit to allow an intro clip and then burn the modified folder to a a DVD with Nero. I've done both and it works well. Bob D Gateway DX4860 i5-2300 2.80GHz; 6GB Ram; Windows 7 Home 64-bit; 1.5 TB C-Drive, 150G F-Drive(video)
Re: Nero vs pE3so Bob do you use PE3 to create your video or just Nero.
And what do you mean create a separate folder for pics? Do you mean like a different menu option or something when playing back the video. One question from an overall quality - besides being able to play it back slower than the DVD speed, do they generate the same quality. Re: Nero vs pE3Premiere Elements is still burning the DVD, only to a folder. I don't know of anyone here that uses Nero to edit the video, just the burning part. The quality is identical whether you burn the DVD with Premiere Elements, Nero or RecordNow.
By adding a folder of pictures Bob is talking about a folder that you can open on the computer, not the video, you can't do that with Premiere Elements. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Nero vs pE3Chuck is right. I would burn to folder from PE and then burn that to a DVD with Nero. When doing that you can include all the photos you may have used in your project (assuming a slideshow here). And yes, these pictures then can only be seen or accessed on a computer (as far as I know). This is a good way to give out a DVD to family and friends but also give them the material for viewing on the computer without a slideshow. And if you think about it, it is like having off site back up storage in many different households!
But if I'm not adding a folder of pictures or using an intro clip before the menu then I just burn right from PE. Bob D Gateway DX4860 i5-2300 2.80GHz; 6GB Ram; Windows 7 Home 64-bit; 1.5 TB C-Drive, 150G F-Drive(video)
Re: Nero vs pE3I sometimes burn one copy in PrEl and view the disk to make sure I'm really happy with it. Then I use Nero diskcopy to make as many copies as I want.
