SmartSyncPro 3.1

Postby George Tyndall » Thu Aug 12, 2010 7:34 pm

My older version of SmartSyncPro does not function correctly with Win7, so I've upgraded to version 3.1.

A new and important feature of the program is that it will backup not only closed but also open files. If, for example, one is editing a long file in Pre, one may conveniently save the open file frequently not only to the HDD on which the project is located but also to the backup of that HDD. The software makes incremental changes (only the changed files are backed up), so if one is making frequent backups, each will take only a second or two.

Another new feature is that the software is capable of making backups to remote locations, for example, between one's work and one's home computers.

The license is "single user," which means that one is allowed to install the software on multiple computers.

The cost is $45 -- $22 if one is upgrading from a previous version.

SmartSync Pro is a universal full featured backup and synchronization tool that can mirror any number of files or directories, whether on local disks and network shares or across remote locations that can only be reached via removable media. SmartSync Pro’s local synchronization is an excellent safety measure for backing up important data, and gives users the option to continue working locally in the event of any server problems. SmartSync Pro also provides a quick, easy and foolproof method to mirror large amounts of data between remote locations (e.g., home and office PC) by transferring only the new, updated or deleted file information.

SmartSync Pro uses a flexible filtering system to keep synchronized only the files you need. It synchronizes only files you have changed or deleted since last synchronization. One mouse click is enough to move an exact copy of your files to another computer.
