Open Folder from PE3 Titles

Postby momoffduty » Thu Dec 13, 2007 2:15 pm

I want to use part of a title template from PE3. Opened the title in Photo shop and made a copy to work on. Appears the layers are in a folder (Indicates a set.) in the layers panel. How do I open the folder?

In Photoshop Elements, just click on the layer set folder in the Layers panel. It should open it right up and show you the contents.

Do you need Photoshop Elements 5 and above? I'm not sure if Layer Sets could be viewed in version 4.

I have Photoshop Ele 5. Tried clicking on the folder and won't open. Tried to double click and a small box opened that said group properties and hit ok and nothing.

In the layers panel: Folder w/'background details' and to the right looks like a pencil icon with a slash thru it.

Note: I have been able to open the layers from folders of the muvipix templates and also open the PE3 DVD templates. Are the title templates(in the Logo folder) different?

I don't know what the problem is. It might be something wrong with this particular template.

They should open up and be editable.

Could not edit the title template so used the DVD template which is okay. Did a google search and think the file was made in photoshop and can't be edited in elements.

I'm confused. I have PE3 and title templates have a suffix of ".prtl" and contain XML. This is not a file format that Photoshop can open or work with. Are you telling us that Photoshop Elements supports this file format and can open it? Or, are you talking about a completely different file. If so, could you give me a full file name and location so I can see what you are talking about?

Thanks!

Bob is right, you can't open Premiere Elements title templates in Photoshop Elements.

However, if you go to this folder there are all kinds of graphics you can work with
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0\Presets\Logos

The title from the logos folder will open in photoshop elements, but you can't ungroup the layers. You can edit the flattened image. Ended up editing the graphics from the DVD template, a little different than what I originally wanted but worked out.
