How exactly do I resize my photos

Postby Ned789 » Tue Dec 03, 2013 11:33 pm

I am using Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements 9 on a Mac. I am trying to create a slideshow/video in Premiere Elements, and Steve's book recommends that my photos be no larger than 1000 x 750 pixels or 2000 x 1500 for high res. In Photoshop I opened a photo and clicked on Image, Resize, Image Size. The screen says the photo is 2592 pixels wide X 1936 pixels high. I cannot see a way to edit the pixels on that screen. I tried changing the Resolution in that screen but it makes no difference to the pixel size. What am I doing wrong??

When you open the resize dialog, there should be a checkbox labeled "Resample Image". Check that box and you will be able to change the pixel dimensions. The "Constrain Proportions" box should also be checked to prevent the image from being distorted.

Don't save over the original. Change the name or, better yet, save to a different folder.

Photoshop elements has a batch resize capability if you want to resize a lot of files. See the tutorial on processing multiple files on this page: http://muvipix.com/products.php?searchp ... &btn.y=-78

Thank you, thank you. You ended my frustration... at least with THAT issue.
