Resize Photo?

Postby kenskopp » Sat Mar 12, 2022 3:44 pm

I have PSE2021. I want to print out an 8x10 photo. With the settings on the two attachments, I get a printed photo with white space above and below the photo. How could I make it fit in a 8x10 frame with no white showing? The print setting attachment shows the white borders on the top and bottom. The white area that shows in a 8x10 view is about half of what shows in the Print Setting screen shot. The photo in the Organizer says it is 945 x 479 pixels.

Thank you for your help.

You will have to crop the photo to the same ratio as 8 X 10.

Don't use PSE but is there a 'scale to fit media' option in the print settings?

Here is a pretty nice chart related to resolution and print size, take a look and it may help to understand the problem better. You can resize the image in Photoshop Elements and then print to 8 x 10 but it is best to have the print option in mind before you take the photos so you set the proper resolution first.

Hello Peru,

How do you: "You will have to crop the photo to the same ratio as 8 X 10."?

(Click the two blue arrows to change it to 10 X 8.)

Should have made this a little more clear. Is there a 'scale to fit media' option in the printer settings menu (not the PSE settings)? Also if your printer allows it you can preview before printing. Both of these options are available on my Canon printer.
