What should I do??

Postby ridon127 » Sun Jul 26, 2009 9:54 am

I am working on our yearbook again for this year. At graduation the ohter night one of our graduates older brother was the speaker. He did this speech about his little brother and how he had this little thing called Down Syndrome.. Not a dry eye in the house that night..
What I want to know is should I have an instrumental song playing in the background while he is talking? I am going to put in the pix and video from graduation while he is speaking. He ended the speech with like my mom's favorite song, WHat a wonderful world, you make this a wonderful world. So I thought that song would be appropriate.. What do you think??
Thanks bunches..
Go out and make it a great day. The choice is yours!

I would not recommend being too heavy handed, adding the song during the presentation. The subject is powerful enough, without adding the melodramatic music.

But wrapping it up, as the presenter did, with that beautiful song and a couple of photos of the child playing, working and hanging with family and friends would be a very nice touch!

I would tend to agree with Steve on this but you might want to do it both ways and see what seems to fit the best.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Down's Syndrome. My youngest sister had that. One of the consequences (apparently) is a shortened life expectancy. My sister wasn't expected to reach sixteen. She made forty -two and died from something not Down's related.

From my personal experience (and you will need to make your own judgement on this vis a vis the video that you are working on) all of my sister's family knew the 'situation' so were, perhaps, inured. Any way that you can discuss with the people concerned? You may be surprised at what they say.

We have great parents and they are excited by the video.. They pretty much know what is going to be on it per their request.. I will decide as I go along, I guess.. :)
