Transitioning

Postby ridon127 » Wed Aug 06, 2008 9:40 pm

I haave gotten a few segments done on my yearbook.. I am doing all the school wide events first and then the individual classes..

My question is ... We had a snow day and then nothing else until swim day.. I hate to just jump into it.. Do you have an suggestions as a way to transition into it? I used Let it Snow for snow day and I am going to use Catch a Wave for swim day..

Thanks
Donna

Just throwing some ideas out there. Maybe show quick shots of snow melting or dripping off the roof, include a title "spring is coming?

Try a transition from one slide to the next by increasing the blur on one slide until it is out of focus and then on the second start with it blurred and then reduce the blur, giving the effect of it coming into focus.

I would think just something to break the immediate connection between snow day and swimming day would do. A short segment of classroom or playground activity, a shot of the school on a spring or summer day, etc. There's always the cross-dissolve (or Jamal's blur) between two calendar pages transition .

Paul's blur ... like Ken Burns effect... now to make it stick! Maybe a few years from now archeoligists will be "digging" in These forum pages looking for the origin of this effect and how it got's it's name. I'm honoured to be part of a future trivia question... What was the "Paul's Blur" effect accidently referred to when it was officially named on the Muvipix forum pages in 2008? Answer: Jamal's blur.
