G'Day all!

Well I've been lapping up the tips, advice and help here for a while so thought I'd better do an intro!

I am a Training Designer/Instructor in the aviation world down here in Brisbane Australia so have some experience working with stills, PowerPoint, etc.

Recently my sister had a large 50th birthday party with a hollywood/red carpet theme so I thought a little slideshow of old & new photos would be nice....

That little slideshow ended up a 20min movie with multiple stills, digital video, digitised analog video and 8mm cine film that took weeks to get right! The only way it got finished was with the help from this forum! (thanks to RJ Johnson again!)

In this process I also purchased the PRE3/PS5 package and so moved from Windows Moviemaker. Best thing I ever did! :-D

Anyway I now have a long list of projects to attempt (added to regularly by people who were at the party) and so will be a regular visitor here for help & advice.

I'll try and post something soon for some constructive advice.

This site is a fantastic place to be and I hope it goes from strength to strength!

Cheers
Spot

Welcome Spot :salute: and G'Day. Welcome to the forum. I had the pleasure of visiting your great country last year (only Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart) along with New Zealand. Great time, great place. :-D :-D :-D

Welcome to our growing community, John!

Glad you're having so much fun with the software. That kind of enthusiasm is very contagious -- and wonderfully addictive.

Looking forward to seeing your work in the Gallery.

Happy moviemaking!

Postby Spot » Sun Jul 08, 2007 5:10 pm

Well just had to mention this:
I recieved a birthday present on the weekend (my birthday is actually on the 4th...yes born in the wrong country!) and it was the "book most talked about" here!

I've read & learnt heaps already. Great book guys, well done indeed.

Cheers
JB
