Hi, everybody!

A place to introduce and tell a little about yourself.

Hi, everybody!

Postby jennylynn » Tue Apr 17, 2007 9:05 pm

I'm new to muvipix and also new to video editing. I got lost on the Adobe site, found this one, and it seems smaller and friendlier, so here I am!

I work outside my home full time (after being a stay-at-home mom for 15 years!) so I don't have as much time as I'd like to play around with Premiere (I'm using PE3, which I got bundled with Photoshop Elements 5 for a great price with a rebate!) and I love it. :-D

I have just about finished my first full-scale project (Disneyland!) and am ready to burn it to DVD tonight. It's 35 minutes long -- is that too long to post to the gallery? I'm also using copyrighted music; don't know what the rules on that are. My videography isn't great (lesson learned: don't videotape while trying to keep up with your teenagers!) but I had so much fun culling out the boring stuff, adding transitions, and music and everything! So much better than watching all our old video 8 analog tapes!

Anyway, glad to be here...I have several technical questions which I'll post elsewhere (but my copy of PE2 in a Snap arrives from Amazon tomorrow, so maybe I won't need to!)

A very warm welcome Jenny, glad to have you join the crew :)

I am sure everyone would love to see at least some of your video although 35 minutes is a little long for the gallery. If you need help exporting a section (usually 5 minute segments are good) let us know.

Thanks for buying the book, I know you will love it. And if you have any questions the authors are both here to help \:D/

Hi Jenny Welcome!

We'd love to see the things that you're proud of accomplishing 35 minutes may be long but is there portions that you are especially happy with the way it turned out? Effects that you figured out how to do?

Also, for future projects there's a lot of talented people that can post comments and offer critiques if you are stuck on something.

See you around!

Welcome Jenny, so glad to have you join us. PE2 in a Snap is the greatest book you could ever have to help you better understand PE. And the wonderful people here go above and beyond to answer the most complicated questions.

I'm new to video editing myself. I'm just now learning transitions, adding music, etc. And I haven't even gotten to editing movies yet. I'm still working with digital photos.

I'm looking forward to seeing your work.

Beth (Maxine370) is planning an informal chat Wednesday at About 10 EST If you would like to join us just look for the chat button at the top of this forum menu.

Welcome, Jenny! Looking forward to seeing at least some of your Disney footage.

As for copyrighted music used in your videos, we're unofficially saying it's okay for posting here, since you're not selling your work and we're technically not depriving the artist of his due share of your income (though we encourage you to make the necessary arrangements when doing work-for-hire). If the RIAA starts issuing cease and desist orders for personal usage, we're all in big trouble! So, until we hear otherwise, it's okay.

But you didn't hear it from me...

Hi jennylynn, I am new to PE3 and PSE. I agree with Cinde, the PE2 in a Snap book is great. It saves a lot of time because you can jump right to a specific task. Also, check out the tutorials in the members area.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I will work on making an excerpt for the gallery. Tomorrow I'm hoping to play my dvd for some of my co-workers at lunch time.
