Hi from Northern Ireland!

A place to introduce and tell a little about yourself.

Hi from Northern Ireland!

Postby Nigehenry » Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:32 am

Hi everyone! I've been viewing the forum for a few weeks now but have only just registered. I just wanted you all to know that I've learned so much just from reading the other posts here.
I've been video editing for a couple of years, although I've only recently completed my first project on Premiere Elements 3. I was using AVS video editor before that, and although it has a very simple to use GUI, the final output quality was pretty poor. I can't believe I put up with it for so long! The quality of my PE3 movie is streets ahead, it makes me want to do all my old projects over again :-k
I recently bought a Sony MiniDV camcorder, so I'm looking forward to my next project on PE3. Previously I'd been using a Panasonic DVD camcorder and to say I had a few problems with it would be an understatement! I'm hoping my new camera will put an end to the heartache of lost video on improperly finalized disc's.
I look forward to talking to you all soon.

Welcome Nigehenry to the greatest known forum in the universe! How is everything over there in Northern Ireland? I'll be taking a trip there in late March and am looking forward to exploring your country.

Thanks Bob, everything going well over here, apart from the weather, which is pretty bad at the moment!
What part of the country are you going to visit? I live in Ballymoney which is near to the Giants Causeway and the Glens of Antrim, two spots which you should definately check out if you get the chance.

Thanks Lee, couldn't agree more. It's a great resource and so much better organised than Adobe's own forum!

Welcome Nigehenry,

I am of Irish decent, Great Grandparents came over in the late 1800's, Heenan is the name.
Not sure what part of Ireland, but someday I hope to do a study on the family tree and maybe even visit :)

Glad you find the forum helpful and well organized, a definite result of Ron's knowledge and dedication.

Nigehenry,

Actually I think the giant causeway is our second stop! We are starting in Dublin and getting our bearings for a day, then heading up to giant causeway area. From there we are going counterclockwise around the whole country. My wife is planning the whole trip so I'm not sure of every stop other than 2 nights in Dingle and one night whereever else we are going. She is a bit crazy when it comes to trips, as she wants to be able to see everything! We only have 10 days and most people she has conversed with have told her she is puting too much in a short time. So, needless to say, the itinerary is in a state of flux, except for the causeway and Dingle. My biggest concern is driving on the opposite side of the road. And I understand some of the roads are rather narrow.

Hey Bob, yes some of the roads here are VERY narrow, but if you don't veer too far off the beaten track you should be OK! You'll get the hang of driving on the left, that's where you're supposed to drive, it's you American's who've got it wrong!
It is a beautiful part of the world, I hope you do plan enough time into your trip to see as much as possible.
All the best
