I used to have a two monitor editing set up but now that I have a 2650 x 1440 monitor a second monitor is unnecessary.

At present I still use CS6 and I don't do 4k video so I have no need to upgrade the monitor just yet as 1080 upscales nicely on my 4k TV.

Thanks John! Good to have different perspectives. There’s always more than one way to approach this hobby.

I have my 4k monitor set at 2560 x 1440, like John does, and I still use Photoshop CS6 too. With the lower resolution setting I can read Photoshop's text with #1.25 readers. I suspect Adobe's new, Creative Cloud Photoshop, would have the ability to upscale text, but I'm not going to do the trial to find out. Loving Resolve.

It might be a good idea to find out how much internet speed is required to view 4k footage. I get 115 mbps from Spectrum right now. If I wanted to pay LOTS more I could get LOTS more but there is this thing called budget that keeps getting in the way. We usually watch one movie or episode every night. Occasionally our TV will pause while the circle spins and the modem catches up. Our TV is not 4k, just regular HD.

Helpful! and interesting. I do use reading glasses, but not for computer work. Normally don't need them for anything but reading printed material and cellphone. My monitor is about 30 inches away. I'd prefer to not have to have them on if I can help it.

I have 100Mbps, which I would think would be plenty. Netflix says 25Mbps for 4k movies, which leaves plenty of wiggle room.
