Slo-Mo Schnauzers - 2

Postby momoffduty » Sun Jan 31, 2016 9:59 pm

The boys helped me test out frame rates. I am disappointed with the 960/fps quality, but happy with the 1080p 120/fps. The HFR drains the batter fast and didn't get a chance to test out the 240 or 480/fps. Plus the boys got tired. They can not catch a ball.

Great fun, Cheryl!

For some reason the extreme slo-mo kept making me think of "2001 A Space Odyssey" !

I was going for the space odyssey NFL jaws feel. :fg:

Chuck, it is the Sony RX100iv. I love this little compact. I have the iii and love the portability. When I came across the iv gently used, well had to get it for the higher frame rate 1080p and 4k. Still running it thru the paces to see if all works. I have 30 days to decide if I am keeping.

Your boys are funny. The little one does not have a clue what the deal is with that yellow thing. But they are good at catching treats!
They make great subjects to test out slow motion, though. ::CLAP:

The little puppy will be 6 months in a few days. All he wants to do is bunny paw the big guys. :-D He will fetch the ball in the house. I think the bounce through him off.

I like the 120fps. butter smooth and crystal clear.

I liked Q at the end. He had the hang time of Michael Jordan in his prime... lol

I agree on the 120fps. Yesterday I did a few tests on the 240 & 480fps. The 240 was the best of the 3, but 120fps is the way to go. With HFR recording, you first hit the center button and it prepares/buffers and then hit the record button. Seems it actually starts during the prepare stage. The recordings are only about 3 seconds long and you have to really nail when you want the action to start. Hit & miss. The 120fps normal movie recording is the most practical for my purposes and looks great sped down.

Mr. Q is a jumper and very fast for his size. He scurries along and I nicknamed him the rat. Snickers prances and his nickname is squirrel. Oscar lumbers along and he is moose. Funny how they have so different personalities.

Stay Schnauzer :-D

Yes, it does! What fun! ::CLAP: Looks like the little guy was beginning to get the idea at the end.

Reminds me that I haven't tried slow mo with my GH4 yet. So much fun to be had... so little time!

Ain't that the truth. I think I spend 50% of my time doing stuff for others, 40% with computer & files upkeep, and 10% fun stuff.
