Here's a terrifically entertaining piece from the team at Red Giant effects. Another great example of what can be done on a home computer with just bit of imagination.

A number of Red Giant effects are available with Vegas and Sony Movie Studio, although they can also be used in pretty much any program that accepts VST plug-ins.
