We had an amazing trip to New Zealand last year. This film is a holiday record so longer than what I would usually post. Feel free to bail out We went from UK to Hong Kong, then to Auckland New Zealand. Drove from top to bottom and took some flights. We came home via the Cook Islands.

I enjoyed every minute of it, but was especially interested in the visit to Hobbiton as my wife and I are big LOTR fans. I had read that they had restored the set and it looks like it would be a lot of fun.

This was really enjoyable, Ken, thanks for sharing it. I like the way you film and edit, never a dull moment! I also love your choices of music. How do you get your footage so stable, are you always using a tripod?

Thanks. Sometimes I use a tripod but the Panasonic X900M has very good image stabilisation.

One of the best vacation videos I have ever seen. I finally figured out the secret. Short 4 second or less segments to keep the viewer interested. I have learned something here. My vacation vids put everyone to sleep. Reason: segments were too long and got boring. Really nice job Ken!

Great job Ken! Very enjoyable Liked the sunrise timelapse at 4:02 Was that a sod house with the round door? Were the segways hard to control? We are thinking about trying those out on our next trip.

Yes but only two of those house could you actually enter. The rest were for external shots for the Lord of The Rings movies. As for the Segway they are very easy to use and great fun. The power they have is incredible. They can take you up very very steep hills. I wish they were street legal in the UK but our ancient traffic laws ban them.

I thought your New Zealand movie was fantastic. I noticed you used your GoPro in the kite scenes. I worked well. Thank you for sharing it.
Peace, John P.

I have a new respect for the humble gopro. That was shot with a Hero2. I had owned it for some time but didn't like it. Using it for an action shot changed all that and so I bought the new one which is even better.
