Commencement Title

Postby momoffduty » Tue Jun 25, 2013 11:28 am

This Spring we had 4 host students graduating and I made them each a DVD of their Commencement. There were 3 from Turkey and one from India (masters). This title was for a student getting dual degrees from a school in Turkey and the one here in the US that Universities have partnered together.

Title work is my favorite part of a project and probably spend more time on the titles than editing the footage. The ending had a similar feel to it with photos of that day, but more of a slide show. After I create a title I use the same graphics for the menu, disc print & case insert.

Beautiful work as always, Cheryl! Your After Effects work is every bit as good as anything I've seen on TV!

I just put all of my computer and video editing equipment up for sale on eBay. I'm going to live on Walden Pond and subsist on bugs and leaves.

Thanks! You all are too funny....Walden Pond. I do have a Pond5 account with a few things. The problem is what graphics I use. I made a bunch of stuff for the Pond, but couldn't use it for mass resale. A few graphics I used in the edit were from DJ. I chatted with a DJ rep and he said as long as it was edited. Well, I got to thinking about it because it just didn't seem right and sent an email to the company and was told NO, not for mass resale. Only for individual sales for a project for hire. Any animations used fit this criteria. Now they did say I could sell or give away mass amounts if it is edited and a still. So, after spending a month prior making stuff based on what the first rep said I told the second guy they need to bring their live chat reps up to speed. At that point I lost interest in making anything. I do have plans on making a few motion BGs if I can get my exports correct.

On an editing note: The BG in AE has Classic Color Dodge blend mode. This is not the same as Color Dodge in PS. To create the printed insert & disc I had to export a frame from AE as a psd.

Thanks again!
