Trip to the Zoo

Postby momoffduty » Tue May 28, 2013 1:35 pm

Trip to the zoo with our 3yo grand daughter. Fun looking at things thru new eyes of a 3yo. I make mini movies for her and load onto the tablet. She likes watching them over and over again.

I think my focusing has improved over the last video I shared. The T4i has tracking with the 18-135mm IS STM lens, but I don't like the hunt/focus. I did use the tracking for the car clip because it was an around the corner shot and I had to use the screen to focus. The T4i has an articulating screen that is a nice feature.

A simple edit in PrPro.

What a fun vid! So very well done. I loved the stills cut to match the music. ::CLAP:

Another masterpiece Cheryl ::CLAP:

I have a ton of zoo videos of my granddaughters when they were little. I keep going back to them all the time and it amazes me how the girls have changed over time. I am trying to do the same thing for my 3yr old grandsons, but it seems to be so much harder now to do. Keeping an eye on them at the zoo makes filming almost impossible. I don't know if it is the fact that I'm now 10yrs older or because they are boys. :conf:

Nice work Cheryl!

Thanks everyone :-D
Dave & Peru (Bob) I liked Ron's music because of the breaks to cut in the photos. Sometimes I will throw a few clips on the timeline and play back while listening to the music on the Muvipix site just to see what clicks.

Gerlinde, I don't think I could have gotten much video if my daughter didn't go with us. I can't shoot & watch a 3yo. Yes, they do grow up fast and making mini movies is fun for Aubrey to see herself. She laughs at her baby vids.

My daughter decided to go with us at the last minute. She left the new actress at home with Daddy. So, I'll have new vids to make for this one too.

Brynlee was born 4/28.

Congratulations, Cheryl. She is really sooo cute. I can't believe how much hair she has.

Here is a pic of my 4, this was taken last year around this time at the zoo. :-D

The 2 girls and the blonde boy are siblings, the one with the orange shirt is the cousin.

Gerlinde, what a cute bunch. The boys are 3? They must keep you on your toes. :-D The 2 girls are probably a big help with them.

Brynlee has a lot of hair! We joke that she needed a hair cut on day 1.

Cheryl, that's another great video! Can't wait to see the 2 sisters in a video together - they are so cute.

Gerlinde, those 4 are cute kids. And your photo is great - so nicely lit. Looking at the expressions on everyone's face, i keep wondering what animal they are looking at.

Thanks Sharon! I hope the oldest doesn't get mad when I start pointing the cam at her sister. :)

Thanks Steve! It gives new life when you can see things through a 3yo's eyes. If she hadn't gone with us then the trip would have been less dimensional. The train is the same one I rode at that age and it brought back memories. :)

Sharon and Cheryl, thanks for the compliments on the kids. Yes the boys are both 3, they are about 4mons apart. Blondie (Patrick)is the younger one and he is taller than orange shirt (Erikson).
Hannah and Maja are both good at keeping them in check. I would post a video about what they were looking at, but I'm not at home this week and I don't have it with me. It was a raccoon. :-D

Really nice video Cheryl! I loved how you focused on your granddaughter's expressions on the train- just a really neat approach.

Congrats on the new grand baby! New and fun video opportunities await!

Thanks Kerrie. The 3yo is are entertainment. I have tons of short clips of her and in one she was laughing so much it sounded like an evil laugh. The little sis has a tough act to follow. :)
