Synchronize audio

Postby tedco » Mon Feb 20, 2023 5:09 am

Using Premiere Elements 2023 I am converting VOB files to MPG but have noticed audio from the speaker is not synchronized with the video pictures.
Replaying the VOB files does not have this problem.
I am using quick Export to save in mpg format.
Have also tried various Custom Settings but with same result.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

You might consider using the freeware Handbrake to convert to an editable version. You also might consider posting a screenshot of the video file setting so further assistance can be made.

Thanks for your reply sidd finch.

I ran the file through Handbrake creatin a preset according to Steve's video tutorial "Converting Videos with Handbrake"
On a sidenote, Handbrake saves the file with extension *.m4v ?
Playing the video now shows the audio is correctly synchronized with the speaker.

I also downloaded MediaInfo and report about the VOB file is:

Glad this could help.

You did not mention it but I notice the file is

Frame rate : 25.000 FPS
Standard : PAL

Could you maybe trying to edit in NTSC format? If so that might be causing the issue. NTSC is the US standard and PAL is rest of world.
