spinning newspaper

Postby Marylou » Thu Nov 05, 2020 11:58 am

I am using premiere elements for windows 2021. I want to introduce my video with a newspaper spinning in. How can I do that?

Easy to do, if you understand keyframing motion. Do you?

And do you have a graphic of a newspaper?

If keyframing feels a bit out of your league, there are companies that sell video clips to add to your project. This one is from videohive.net

Yes I have a graphic of a newspaper and I understand (somewhat) key framing.

Then all you've got to do is keyframe Motion settings for Position, Scale and, of course, Rotation. If you set one Rotation keyframe with the slider all the way to the left and the other with the slider all the way to the right, you can get 4 rotations in your spin.

If you tell us your Project Settings (listed under Project Settings, under the Edit menu) and tell us the exact size (measured in pixels) of your newspaper graphic, we can suggest exact settings for your keyframes.

My newspaper is 1200 by 910. I used your directions and it looks good, but it could also benefit from some refinement. Thanks

What settings are you using? Can you post what you've done to YouTube and give us a link to it so we can see what you've come up with?

Looking good, Marylou. But I think it goes on too long. I think it would be much more effective if it only last a second at most.

Nice example Steve, I completely agree. At first I thought Marylou's was kind of cool and reminded me of the twilight zone, then it went on for too long. Great work though, you are getting the hang of it Marylou :TU:
