How to make animations

Postby paperboy » Sat Mar 27, 2021 11:09 am

Hi, I would like to learn how to make some animation (ie falling snow ).
Do I need a serie of png? Can you suggest a place where I can find some example to start learning? I think Premiere Elements lacks good animations. Please help me.

Hi Paperboy, you really just need a clip of snowfall with a transparent background. There are tons of these available on the internet. There are also tools you can use to create the effect, like After Effects. Some links below to help in your search and research.

Usually if the effect can make rain it will also have an option to make snow.

There used to be a nice little free program that could create water effects, rain and snow but I can't remember the name. It would create an AVI file with a transparent background and worked really well. It may not have been updated for HD however so not even sure if it is around anymore.

I found the program, Sqirlz Water Reflections ! It is old but may be worth taking a look at. Not sure of the maximum resolution of the output file. This was really cool when I first saw it, does tons of really great effects with water and could make rain and snow.

Youtube Video in French but you can see what the program can do. This video is from 2018 so people are still using it.

Another Youtube Video that is pretty good

Most of the videos are in French and they deal mostly with animating photos rather than video but the program works great for video as well.

Thank you, I'll have a look on the second one because I don't have the Adobe subscription.
