Question about 5.1 audio

Postby fader5 » Fri Jun 12, 2020 3:33 pm

I have a question about 5.1 audio. I recorded a local show that was on a local broadcast station on my home run duo. It saved the file as a .TS and I imported into PRE 2020 and I'm unable to add an effects to the audio. I audio seems a little muffled and I need to tweak it.
Thanks
Wilbur

We might need more technical information about the video/audio you're trying to edit. You don't saw how you digitized it, but the software could have used some strange compression systems.

Open your .TS clip in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text report and paste it to this forum.

The simplest solution may be converting the video to a more standardized codec using Handbrake.

I'd definitely recommend converting it to standardized MP4 using Handbrake, using these steps. There are a couple of issues in your file and a conversion will make them all go away.

Steve is right. Handbrake resolves a lot of video issues and makes editing a much easier process.

You could also try to just export the audio from the project and then import and replace the audio with the new file that was created by premiere elements. Might be worth a shot as an experiment at least.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
