Bored of Action Cams?

Do I dare say that I could be in this camp. No not really bored just enjoying an additional camera type. To be sure there a a lot of trade offs that for me makes each camera type unique.

I think the most ironic thing is that I never use the camera to output 360 degree video. It is more of a "where in the 360 space" di I want the viewer to direct their gaze.

The insta360 camera uses two 200-degree lenses. The cameras capture more than a full 360 degrees. There’s some redundancy built-in — the content that’s right at the border between the two lenses gets captured by both sides.

That overlap between lenses is the key to the Invisible Selfie Stick. It gives Insta360’s stitching software the freedom to decide exactly where to stitch those two images together.

The stitch line is slightly added so that they can neatly edit the selfie stick straight out of existence.

There's a YouTube content creator called Traveling Robert who uses the Insta360 sometimes while he's walking trails. The ability to "disappear" the selfie stick is quite the trick, although it's kind of weird to see him walking with his arm and hand stuck out with nothing in it.

It is a bit odd to see that especially when you can see the monopod shadow in the shot. I have seen a some creators keep there hands at their side while holding the monopod. Some put it in their front pocket and hold to make it less obvious.

There is a guy named Ben Claremont wo does a lot of 360 tutorials that teach how to leverage the 360 camera to get the most out of it.
