Split Photo Slide show into individual Phots

Postby abbaker2 » Tue Sep 01, 2020 1:05 pm

9/1/2020

Some years ago, I created a slide show using the Photoshop (Phe) v10 Organizer. I imported it to Premiere Elements (PE) v10, and then used a PE menu item (Timeline->”Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slide show”) to get control of the individual photos and transitions.

I have used an alternative method suggested by Steve Grisetti to make a simple slideshow in PE 19. However, I cannot find any way to break apart the single clip into individual photos and transitions.

How can I do this?

This is no longer possible in Premiere Elements, ab. At least if you're creating your slideshow in the Organizer's slideshow creator. (There are several ways to make a slideshow in Premiere Elements.) Slideshows ported from the Organizer to Premiere Elements are saved as MP4s.

Steve,

Thank you for responding.I kind of figured it was not possible to do that using the Organizer. However, as I said in my first post

"I have used an alternative method suggested by Steve Grisetti to make a simple slideshow in PE 19. However, I cannot find any way to break apart the single clip into individual photos and transitions."

Once the slide show is in the timeline, How can I break it apart into individual photos?

What alternative method are you using, abb? There are several ways, as I've said, to make a slideshow in the program.

Steve,

I found a response you posted to Ken Skoop on 7/3/20 which states:

● Bring in the photos to Project Assets & sort as required

● Select the photos in Project Assets then right click and select the Create Slideshow Option.

I followed those instructions and the software put a slideshow comprised of all the selected photos into the timeline. The result was a single clip containing all of the photos and a transition between each photo.

I need to break that clip apart so that I can work on each photo individually and replace some of the transitions.

How can I do that?

If you create a slideshow by right-clicking on a group of stills you've got selected in your Project Assets, these slides will appear as individual clips on your timeline -- not a single slideshow file.

Steve,

I followed your instructions:

When I tried to resize the first photo, I clicked on it and the entire slideshow changed color, indicating that it was selected. When I tried to resize the photo, I got a message saying “Multiple Clips selected, please select only one clip”.

I have included a screen snapshot to illustrate the result.

What am I doing wrong?
